Experiencing union

(Quotations from Cyril of Alexandria)

For Christ is formed in us (cf. Gal. 4:19), not as created in created, but as Uncreated and God in created and produced nature, engraving us anew to His own image through the Spirit, and transferring the creature, that is, us, to the dignity that is above the creature.
(The Image of God in Man according to Cyril of Alexandria, p. 23, quoting "De sancta et consubstantiali trinitate" dial. 4)

For God the Father has prepared in Christ for the inhabitants of earth those gifts which are bestowed upon the world through Him, even the forgiveness of sins, the cleansing away of all defilement, the communion of the Holy Spirit, the glorious adoption as sons, and the kingdom of heaven.
(Commentary on the Gospel of St. Luke, pp. 418-419)
